Tucson's only authentic Japanese Gardens inaugurates the exhibition "Enlightened Heart: Fire-engraved Wood Sculpture by Ping Wei" with a free artist reception on October 8, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Meet Ping Wei, a Phoenix ceramicist and master of Ikebana (traditional Japanese flower arranging) and view wooden sculpture and tablets on which he has fire-engraved Asian calligraphy and other designs. All items are for sale. Exhibition runs through Dec. 31 and entrance is free with regular Gardens admission. Adults: $9; Seniors (65+): $8; Students & Military (w/ID): $7; Children 3-15: $5; Children under 2: free. Reduced admission for groups of 10 or more with two weeks advance notice of visit. Open daily 9:30-4:30, except Mondays, Thanksgiving, Dec. 24, 25 & 30, and New Year's Day.
