Photography from Parks in Focus® will be on display at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library from January 2-31 during regular library hours.

Parks in Focus® is a program of the Udall Foundation that connects youth from underserved communities to nature through photography and outdoor learning. In partnership with Western National Parks Association, Parks in Focus® introduces more than 400 Tucson youth from the Boys & Girls Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and other local organizations to the wonders of our National Parks each year.

Through afterschool activities, weekend outings, and summer camping trips, participants gain self-confidence and basic outdoor skills. They learn about plants and animals of Arizona as they explore and photograph places they have never been before. Most importantly, they develop a deeper connection to their National Parks. Throughout the program, Parks in Focus® staff and volunteers give lessons in photography and encourage participants to capture their adventures in pictures they can share with friends and families.
