The airport has two photographers with very different styles exhibiting side by side in the Link Gallery; now through Feb 2, 2019. Roxanne Beckman shows her series, ON BONEYARD SAFARI and Michael S. Nolan shows his photo series , FROM POLE TO POLE.

Beckman says, "Photographing places and things with an interesting past has always intrigued me, and my background as a now-retired professional pilot naturally drew me to the aviation relics on display in Tucson's aircraft boneyard. Although their time has come and gone, my hope is that these images might spur you, the viewer, to use your imagination to envision what stories might be held within these abandoned aircraft."

Michael Nolan’s passion for the ocean began at age twelve when he learned to snorkel in the Italian Mediterranean Sea. At 18 he became a PADI SCUBA instructor and helped start The Dive Shop in Tucson (still in business today). He was 22 when he got his first camera, a gift from his mother for his graduation from the University of Arizona. That same year his first photographic images were published by the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Since then his award-winning photography has appeared in hundreds of magazines, calendars, and books in over 75 countries worldwide.

For the past 15 years he has been leading photo expeditions with National Geographic/Lindblad from pole to pole and many places in between. He spends most of his year at sea in search of intimate portraits of ocean life. His love affair with the ocean continues to drive him to seek out new encounters with the wild creatures of this watery planet.
