Mission Garden, Tucson's birthplace at the base of "A" Mountain, remains open. This outdoor venue is a lovely place to walk and admire living gardens representing many cultural groups that have farmed the floodplain of the Santa Cruz River in Tucson for over 4,000 years. Enjoy heritage orchards, heirloom crops, and edible native plants. The garden's mission is to preserve, transmit, and revive the region’s rich agricultural heritage. Closed major holidays. Suggested donation $5/person.

DirectionsFrom Tucson's West Side, go south on Grande Ave and turn left on Mission Lane, at the base of "A" Mountain. At the Mission Garden sign follow the path to the gate on the east side of the garden. From the southwest, go north on Mission Road, go past Starr Pass Road, and turn right on Mission Lane at the base of "A" Mountain.
